Have you ever noticed the laborers
who built those walls?
Their faces permeating exhaustion,
slaked in perspiration.

They are stacking bricks over bricks,
solidifying steel fibers.

Such grandiosity—
structure of reinforced concrete
and sweat on the asphalt;
tall, magnificent
and indestructible (?)

You walk in to find that
the structure is hollow inside.
Just metal and cement,
built with calloused hands.
